Step 1
The homeowner believes that giving you as much information as possible up front is the only way to make sure that you aren't "surprised" by a rule, condition, or action-taken later in the housemate relationship. There should be no question that isn't already answered somewhere in this website. Make sure that you have read and understand, at minimum, the information on the following pages - come back to this page when you are finished and click on the button above to move to Step 2:

Step 2
Click on the "Set-up Tour" option on the "How to Apply" menu, and follow the instructions. Tour the Suite. IF you are still interested in this home share, continue to step 3. Note that buttons on each page will guide you to the next step without having to refer back to this page until Step 7 (which is only available on this page).

Step 3
Access the "Application" on the "How to Apply" menu and read the information provided carefully and completely. Select ONE of these options:

[1] PAPER APPLICATION: print the application, fill it in, sign and date it. Go to step 5.

[2] ONLINE APPLICATION: complete the online application and submit it. All fields are required, and the form will be rejected by the host software if a field isn't filled, or if a radio button or checkbox isn't selected. The form also detects and rejects nonsensical content. The application does ask for personal information, however it does not ask for your social security number, which must be submitted by email in a special format to protect it. Go to step 4.


Step 4
Instructions for the online application only...

Read the "Sending SSN/DLN" on the "How to Apply" menu, and using the instructions, format your social security number (SSN) as shown by example, so that it can be sent safely via email to the email address you will be given after your initial contact. You can also submit your driver's license number (DLN) via the same email instead of typing it into the online application if you prefer - but DO NOT format it like the SSN.


Step 5
Read the following two statements, then print the combined document out (takes only one single-sided 8.5"x11" piece of paper), sign and date both the statement and agreement.

[1]  "Authorization to Collect Personal Information" statement
[2] "Good Faith Agreement"


Step 6
Read the "Deposits & Fees" topic on the "How to Apply" menu, and (for even more detail) review the "Deposits & Fees" topic on the "What it Costs" menu if necessary, and select one of these options for submitting the application fee:

[1] by personal check in US funds, parental check* in US funds, bank/cashier's check in US funds, or USPS/store money order** made payable to "R S Lasswell".

        **non-USPS money orders must be from Pullman area source

[2] via PayPal. Go to the "Pay Deposits & Fees" page to make your payment, then return here for step 7.

Step 7
Depending on how you handled the application in step 3 above, and the application fee in step 6 above, select ONE of these options:

[1] ONLINE APPLICATION, CHECK OR MONEY ORDER: Mail the "Authorization to Collect Personal Information" form, "Good Faith Agreement", and application fee to the address  below.

[2] ONLINE APPLICATION, PAYPAL: Mail the "Authorization to Collect Personal Information" form, "Good Faith Agreement" to the address  below.

[3] PRINTED APPLICATION, CHECK OR MONEY ORDER: Mail the "Home Share Application", "Authorization to Collect Personal Information", "Good Faith Agreement", and application fee to the address below.

[4] PRINTED APPLICATION, PAYPAL: Mail the "Home Share Application", "Authorization to Collect Personal Information", "Good Faith Agreement" to the address below.

Then, send the required documents and payment via USPS, UPS, FedEX to:

You should not depend on these abbreviated steps entirely - it would be best to at least read through the steps at left, then use this list as a reminder.

[1] Read as much as possible and make sure all of your questions are answered.

[2] Ask for a tour

[3] Fill out application (online or printed version)

[4] For the online application ONLY: Send specially formatted* SSN by email if application was done online. *
refer to "Sending SSN/DLN" on "How to Apply" menu

[5] Print "Authorization to Collect Personal Information" and "Good Faith Agreement", sign and date both (they are on one 8.5"x11" sheet)

[6] Write check for application fee OR submit through PayPal

[7] Then, send the required documents and payment via USPS, UPS, FedEX to:
