Good Faith Agreement
By my signature below I hereby affirm that, IF I find the offered living arrangement and the terms & conditions to my liking, and the homeowner accepts me as a suitable tenant, I fully intend at this time to accept the homeowner's offer and enter into a home sharing contract with the homeowner. I understand that I will be given the chance to formally accept or decline such an offer after this application has been submitted. I understand that this agreement is not the Home Sharing Agreement.
In order to demonstrate my full commitment to this decision, I have enclosed the required application fee of eighty dollars ($80.00 U.S. per person) in (a) the form of a USPS-issued or store-issued money order, bank-issued cashier's check, or personal check made payable to "R.S. Lasswell" that will be submitted to the homeowner with the application* and this document, or (b) an electronic funds transfer via PayPal, with the application* and this document mailed separately (*application may be submitted online in either case). I understand that thirty dollars ($30) of the application fee will be used to obtain credit and criminal history reports about me, and is NON-refundable, unless the application is rejected as incomplete, or the money is not used for the stated purpose.
I understand that the remaining fifty dollars ($50) will be refunded to me IF (a) the application is rejected as incomplete, or (b) it is determined that I would not be a suitable housemate, or (c) I subsequently do not find the living arrangement and/or the stated terms & conditions to my liking, and decline a formal offer from the homeowner.
I understand and agree that should the homeowner make me a formal offer, and I accept, I will sign the Home Sharing Agreement on or prior to the first day the lease becomes enforceable, and I will immediately be legally bound by all of it's provisions. I understand that the remaining fifty dollars ($50) will be credited towards my security deposit. I further understand and agree that (a) if it is determined that I knowingly provided false, misleading or fraudulent information on the application, or (b) if I have accepted a formal offer, but fail to sign the Home Sharing Agreement on or prior to the first day the lease becomes enforceable, I will forfeit the remaining fifty dollars ($50) of the application fee.
